The "tio" |
|
I am going to tell you about a tradition we have in Andorra for
the young kids. It's called the Tio.
You have to cover a log with a blanket and put candies, chocolate
and nougats under the blanket.
Then kids come around the log.
(covered with the blanket) and they beat it with the stick while
singing a traditional song which goes :Give us nougats, and not
fish because they are too salted, give us nougats, its better.
In
Catalan :
Tio tio caga turrons no cadis arangades que son masa
salades caga turrons que son mes bons. (in fact "caga
tio" does not mean "give" but you have to find out
what it means. I don't dare to tell you).
After that the young kids lift the blanket and find all the
candies.
